By Marie McCooey

Would you like to perform a quick calculation in Excel without creating a formula?

For example:

      • Spot check your totals?
      • Count the number of cells in a range?
      • Find the largest value of a series of numbers?

Let me introduce you to AutoCalculate, the hidden feature, that calculates for you without formulas.

It’s concealed until you select a range of cells.

Once you select two or more cells containing values, it displays in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

Give it a try.
AutoCalculate instantly displays the Average, Count and Sum of the selected cells in the status bar.
